A life dedicated to companion animals
About me
Graduating from the National Veterinary School of Toulouse in 2012, I have dedicated my career to general veterinary medicine, with a particular focus on companion animals, especially cats and dogs. My passion for cats, with whom I have always lived, has allowed me to develop a unique and empathetic approach to their care and well-being.
I started my career with temporary positions throughout the southwest of France, taking care of cats and dogs, but also sheep and cows.
I then had the chance to work at the Bordeaux clinic of the Animal Assistance Foundation.
In 2015, I realized my dream by opening my own veterinary clinic in Bressols (82). For six years, I had the privilege of caring for many animals and building strong bonds with their owners. In 2021, my clinic joined the OKIVET group, but unfortunately, it had to close its doors in 2023.
Not practicing as a veterinarian anymore, I sought other ways to contribute to the good health of cats and to continue helping my fellow veterinarians. Thus, from an idea that has been on my mind for years, the Feli'easy project was born.
How was Feli'easy born?
A finding
During my years of veterinary practice, I have often faced the same situation: a stressed or aggressive cat that its owner cannot get into an ill-fitting transport cage. At best, after a struggle with their cat, the owner manages to force it inside.
Result: a very stressed cat that cannot be treated without sedating it and an owner who is scratched and bitten. When care is not simply abandoned, it is done at the risk of having caught the animal, putting its life in danger.
Finally, I have been able to observe that joint pain in cats is much more common than one might think and is rarely detected and managed in the early stages of development.
An idea
But how can we improve the comfort of cats, their owners, and promote the medical care of cats so that they are healthier for longer?
First, by making the carrier bag a comforting place for the cat. By transforming the carrier bag into a sleeping basket, the cat uses it daily, deposits calming pheromones in it, and associates it with a safe place. No more panic for Minou when seeing the carrier appear!
Then, by cleverly combining several opening and closing systems to adapt to all cats and their personalities, even the most aggressive ones can be easily placed in the transport bag thanks to an original bell system. And no more risk of injury for the owner.
Finally, since Feli'easy is his daily sleeping basket, it seemed essential to me to ensure maximum sleeping comfort and to think of all those cats who have joint pain without showing it. For them and for all cats, I have therefore integrated a memory foam orthopedic mattress.
Hard work and exceptional partners
After years of reflection and project development, I have finally decided to take action at the beginning of 2024.
The design of the plans first: reflections on the specifications, dimensions, and characteristics.
Then the design of the first prototype: Victory, it works!
I was fortunate to be invited by AFVAC*, a big thank you to them! to the Arcachon Cat Congress to present the concept and the prototype to the veterinarians. The welcome was very warm. We are on the right track!
This congress was an opportunity to establish partnerships with major associations in the veterinary world. The AFVAC* and the GRIF**, two veterinary associations strongly committed to feline medicine and the medicalization of cats. These two associations will test Feli'easy in advance to improve the initial versions and ensure that Feli'easy lives up to all its promises.
